Tabloid writer Tony Dennis: "What this really indicates is that 3G as a technology or application is nowhere near as compelling as it proponents initially envisaged." There's no "really" there except that Tony's still a really bad journalist. Interesting that the November piece was more accurate. You wrote that, yes? I had been unaware of is the extraterrestrial penchant for DO: "3G 1xEV-DO subscribers reached 8.3 billion in September 2004". Wait til they get a load of DOrA! I agree with your post 446, that 3G is progressing well... in low gear, with serious torque and good traction. It's thoroughly predictable that half of the journalists and analysts read negatives into the less than fantastically explosive progress. Bunch of indulgent sensationalists looking for stimulation. (There's a simple single word for that Tony Dennis ilk, starting with "j".)
