maybe you should try reading the news once and while instead of criticizing those that report it

What news? Inflammatory junk which Newsweek "reported" and then retracted - after it caused anti-American pogroms in several Muslim countries? This tells more about Newsweek than about anything else.

And the Abu Ghraib perpetrators who did the crime - are doing time. What else is there to say. Some of the higher ups were also punished. Enough to prove to all who are willing to listen that things which happened in that prison are NOT the policy of the US.

Iraq is on its way to have representative elected government. Their people are turning increasingly negative towards the extremists. Al Qaeda is on the run -- to the point that we are getting complacent, as if they didn't exist.
