Surprise, As the French voters rejected the EU-constitution the dollar did only increase a bit and the Euro held up. I would have expected a rather strong increase of the value of the $ and a rather noticable loss in confidence of the Euro.
In a few days we expect now another voting on the subject in Holland and also there one expects the no-vote to win. According to commentaries heard the fear of a comming joining of Turkey was the main cause of the non acceptance. And then you have the Frnch attitude of being special and in the united Europe they would only be one of many. I expect that as things develop the sliding of the dollar seems to have been stopped and better times for the greenback is quite possible.Fred
