If you make it to Portland have lunch at "The Oyster Bar." It's a local haunt renowned for its oyster stew and seafood. Celebrating its 100th next year I think. I first ate there in 1966. The food and the atmosphere is the same now as it was then.

Pioneer Square is a nice public area if you manage to get there between demonstrations. Like when they egged the Vice President.

PS, pay no attention to Portland politics. Its too depressing. Lars Larson calls the Oregonian the local fish wrap. That's all it is.
