We started this with your assertion that the IRS considers people earning over 70K to be "rich." And you somehow find that demonstrated by their data regarding what proportion of tax revenues come by people in various income percentiles.

My thought was that it's unlikely that the IRS employees responsible for disseminating that information would apply the label, "rich," to a 70K salary given that they would earn salaries in that range and I'm pretty certain that you won't find any federal employees living on just their salaries who consider themselves rich. <g>
