Iraq never posed a threat to the US or any of its neighbors

Iraq invaded Kuwait, tried to destroy Iran, and threatened Saudi Arabia. In addition, Saddam was one of the biggest donators to Palestinian suicide bombing, which is a direct threat to Israel. Everyone was afraid of Saddam. Not only that, but he did everything in the book to obtain WMD and did at one time possess chemical weapons. When they were taken away from him during the inspections, he did everything in the book to make the world believe he still possessed them, so he could play a dangerous game of brinksmanship. The problem is that Bush called his bluff and attacked. Saddam deserved to be deposed and the world is better off without Saddam in charge of IRaq.

If you are right about Iraq being no better of two years from now, I will be greatly disappointed. Instead of blaming Bush for invading in the first place, though, I will blame Bush for botching the execution. This thing could have been won much more quickly and with far fewer lives, if we'd have had even the most basic of well-thought out plans for the aftermath.

Invading Iraq was the second best thing we could do to change the Middle East, second to taking all that money and investing in energy conservation and alternative fuels. Lost opportunities.
