I believe a gov't is far better off getting its revenues from clean rather than dirty sources

My understanding is that casinos provide entertainment, and there is nothing "dirty" about that. Just like when you go to a spa, you leave the place quite a bit lighter in cash, but more euphoric. Or at least pampered and entertained.

I say we restart the Indian wars and win this time

Is it going to be blankets with chickenpox again?

the laws of probability DO allow for such things AND STILL ALLOW THE HOUSE TO WIN A RIGGED GAME! Or does Holly believe those palaces in Vegas were built to make HER rich?

I totally agree with you. Casinos will not make her rich, the game is rigged, and she should not expect to win over the long term.

However, if she knows all that and hence can see gambling as an expensive hobby that is interesting/exciting to her, what else is there to say?

At least, you can't say her gambling harms YOU (like with cigarettes) because there is no such thing as "passive gambling" :-)))
