Let's keep the foreign affairs picture in context, please. The U.S. and France are selling Taiwan over 100 F-16's and Mirages to defend themselves. At present, China lacks the sealift capability to invade Taiwan, and the U.S. has responded to Chinese manuevers by sailing a U.S. aircarft carrier through the Strait. China won't be taking Taiwan anytime soon.

As for North Korea, who would want it? And why would China try to take South Korea and jeopardize their newfound economic relations with Japan and the U.S.? Will they overrun the 35,000 U.S. troops still at the DMZ? Who would buy all their toys and electronics then?

I accept others' anecdotal evidence about local inflation. I don't think it matters much because the U.S. government statistics are what drives the markets and the Fed. I have heard nothing out of Washington talking about a formula that might revise inflation upward.

Inflation, we can agree to disagree. International affairs - you are way off the mark, IMHO.
