I can't agree with you more. The United Nations has proved to the world that it is long on proclamations and short on teeth. It is an almost useless organization. I lost all respect for the U.N. when I found out countries like Cuba were heading up the Human Rights committee on a rotational basis.

I've always said that the U.N. needs to be scrapped and replaced with the U.D.N. United Democratic Nations. Only then, will Democratic values such as human rights be defensible on a global scale. If we limit WTO access and all other ways of trading and the benefits therein to Democratic nations, then more and more countries will want to be certified Democratic to gain the benefits of trade, security, etc.

Sometimes I think this world is run by a bunch of well-meaning, but spineless people with a lack of imagination.
