Interestingly the real problems are allowed to stay on. Benon Sevan was allowed to retain his status and attain the age of 60 while suspended. I believe this entitles him to additional retirement benefits. Kofi Annon has admitted to culpability in the deal with his son, and he retains his position. This appears to be typical of the UN: blame the problem on subordinates and keep the problem people on the payroll.
