mindmeld,
We can settle on Guiliani. He'd be great. Although, I'm afraid he's a little to far to the right for me.
I think he is, overall, much more of a centrist than McCain, for example. He is a hawkish on defense, fiscally conservative, tough negotiator (with unions). On the social issues, he is much more libertarian then the Republican party is these days.
He started as a Democrat, but with Democrats turning crazy (expecially on the coasts), there was no place for him in the Dem party. If he runs, and wins the primaries, I don't see a Democrat that can beat him.
But, maybe I am too selfish, I would prefer to see him run for governor of New York.
