Well, here's what keeps me optimistic. As bad as things can get in America, we always have hope for a new dawn within 4 years time. If a leader is bad in the Middle East, then you have to wait until he dies and that could be decades, as was the case with Arafat.

So our system may not be perfect, but it is still the best governmental and economic system on earth.

Its producing violence, crime, torture, economic pain, a growing disparity between the rich and the poor, etc in larger and larger quanitities. You've been sucked in......it may be one of the better ones but its a long way from being the best.
