SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Market Wire - Jun 01, 2005) -- According to
Synergy Research Group's latest reports, Q1 2005 Service Provider
VoIP EMEA Market Shares and Q1 2005 Service Provider VoIP U.S.
Market Shares, the EMEA and U.S. VoIP markets grew 100.3 and 68.6
percent year over year, respectively.
Softswitch sales were a strong component to VoIP growth in the
quarter. In EMEA, Alcatel, ItalTel and Siemens reported triple-digit
sequential growth for their Class 5 Softswitch shipments. And in the
U.S., MetaSwitch posted strong Class 5 Softswitch shipments which
pushed them past Lucent to gain the 5th place spot in Synergy's U.S.
Service Provider VoIP rankings.

providers continue to strategically migrate their circuit-based TDM
