The prior mess (saddam in power) paled in contrast to the one we've created with the invasion.

To the extent that Iraq today is a mess, why do you say it's we that have created it, rather than the lunatic killers that are blowing up mosques, assassinating elected officials, and driving cars full of explosives into police stations?

We removed the power that held the place together and we underestimated the consequences of such an action. Introducing a high level of violence while not providing the basic services like electricity required by a modern society did not help. Hence, we are responsible.

I know that's hard one to swallow for someone who believes that Americans pee perfume.

It would seen the perpetrators of the autrocities in Iraq are creating the "mess", don't you think?

Of course....just like the poor, innocent sucker who got tortured to death. Had he not been in the wrong place at the wrong time, he would be alive today and his kids would have their father back. This is said as a strong odor of perfume wafts over Afghanistan........and its not coming from the opiated poppies.
