I can't agree with you more. The United Nations has proved to the world that it is long on proclamations and short on teeth. It is an almost useless organization. I lost all respect for the U.N. when I found out countries like Cuba were heading up the Human Rights committee on a rotational basis.

Elroy's comments re. the UN border on the ridiculous and your concurrence just encourages him. The UN has no standing army nor weaponry. Its operates at the bequest of the Security Council. It has little power because the SC refuses to give it any power. In fact, the UN is the puppet of the SC, primarily the US.

Saddam was not removed by Bush Sr. for excellent reason as can be seen by the mess we have created by committing such an act. Its seems Bush Sr. is slightly more intelligent than his progeny.

Furthermore, to say anything derogatory about the UN only reflects negatively on the US. For those of you who think Americans pee perfume, by trashing the UN, you are shooting yourselves in the foot.
