Comverse Technology quarterly profit more than triples By Carla Mozee SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Comverse Technology (CMVT) after the bell Wednesday reported first-quarter earnings of $24.3 million, or 11 cents a share, compared with $7 million, or 3 cents a share, a year ago. Pro forma earnings were $25.7 million, or 12 cents a share, for the quarter. Revenue rose to $272.8 million from $221.4 million last year. Analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call were expecting the communications technology company to post earnings of 11 cents a share on revenue of $266 million.
