Excel, Inc. and Brite Voice Systems Enter Strategic Partnership
HYANNIS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1997--Excel, Inc. and Brite Voice Systems (Brite) announced today the establishment of a strategic partnership that will allow the two companies to focus on both product and marketing programs.
The agreement establishes Brite as an authorized member of Excel's Partner Program, through which qualified consultants, OEM's, systems integrators and application developers create an alliance for the sales and support of systems utilizing Excel's programmable switches.
Brite, a world leader in the deployment of speech recognition, provides open intelligent platforms and enhanced services for the both the wireless and wireline industries. With its VoiceSelect product, the company holds more than 80% of the worldwide market for voice dialing. Brite's platform utilizes Excel switches to give wireless and wireline service providers a platform which fully supports multiapplication, multimedia and multinetwork capabilities.
Brite's platform allows multiple applications to execute from any of the available telephony ports,efficiently utilizing available hardware resources. Through the call transfer and management services of the Excel switching system Brite's platform supports: call transfer; call progress analysis and teleconferencing; and T1 and E1 interfaces supporting Feature Group-D, R1/R2, SS7 and ISDN/PRI signaling.
Other Brite solutions utilizing Excel's programmable switches include prepaid services, voice messaging, computer telephony and interactive voice response applications, short message and single-number services, fax mail, audiotex, and financial telemanagement.
