No. The worst enemy of Democracy are people who hate the U.S. more than they love life. They will make Democratic nations become security bastions with closed borders and unwelcoming immigration policies. All of Western Civilization needs to spend whatever it takes to fight the ideology of hate that has been spawned in the Middle East. It's going to take Democratization and re-education in the mosques and the madrasahs...and yes, the occasional military confrontation.

You do not fight hate with bombs and tanks. It the sign of the times that you, a moderate, would believe such insanity. Bombs and tanks only create more hate.

I agree Bush is not the man who can do this job, but the need for the job to get done won't end when Bush is gone in 2009.

Bush is not the problem. He is a symptom of the problem. Americans have become afraid and in their fear, they are lashing out in ways that will not benefit us in the long run. That fear has made the Bushies and their game possible and if the fear does not abate, there will be another 'Bush' to replace the current Bush.
