Not worrying about the past, CB....But rather, wondering if something like this could happen in the future. Both a real situation , and/or an imagined one.

If there was a situation in the WH that was similar to Watergate (breaking the same kind of laws that Nixon did), what should someone who knew about it, at senior levels, do about it? Wasn't there anyone he could have talked to, or a lot of those somebodies....and all have gone public with it at the same time?

Someone mentioned that he COULD have resigned, and then gone to the House and Senate leaders or directly to the public with the situation. Instead, he chose to continue to collect a paycheck all the while.

The other situation could be that someone at a senior level in the Government, like Felt...a #2 or #3 in the Pentagon, the Administration, or the Justice Department....decided to "make up" an imaginary story, but do the same thing Felt did....go to the media, and end up toppling a Government....Could this ever happen?

Surely we have legal safeguards already in place for whistleblowers to go to, don't we?????

Or are you saying we don't.....and that going to the media is the way to solve a problem. Or create one.....
