Gulf Biomedical Finalizes Purchase of Assets of Hair Care Supplement Marketer

HOUSTON, Oct. 11, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gulf Biomedical Corporation (Pink Sheets:GBIC), a sixteen-year-old Houston-based laser research and manufacturing firm, announced today that it has completed the acquisition from David Beard/Traderite, LLC of the product line "Special Care, Health and Hair." The purchase included all assets, liabilities, copyrights, patent rights and inventories related to the hair-growing supplement and associated product developed by David Beard/Traderite, LLC.
"Special Care, Health and Hair" is a vitamin supplement developed by Beard in 2002 after a series of formulated chemical studies on human subjects conducted with pharmaceutical grade components. In late January 2003, the dosage was standardized as a two-tablet formula intended to stimulate hair growth and repair from common hair loss maladies such as Andogenetic Alopecia (AGA), Alopecia Areata, Congenital Atrichia and Trichotillomanis.

Gulf Biomedical Corporation will commence double-blind medical trials immediately. Goal of the trials: patent and copyright on the vitamin formulations.
