1. Terrorism is a human condition. Not a ME condition:
As if to cement Rudolph's label as a terrorist, the Associated Press reports that he will likely spend 23 hours a day for the rest of his life in a small cell at the "Alcatraz of the Rockies," the "Supermax" prison in southern Colorado that is also home to "Theodore Kaczynski, the Unabomber; Richard Reid, who tried to ignite a shoe bomb on a trans-Atlantic flight; Ramzi Yousef, who was involved in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing; and Terry Nichols, who helped carry out the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995." 2. SA does support terrorism in an increasingly unsuccessful way to keep their violent dictatorship in power. If ANY government supports terrorism, it's SA's.
3. Your math is STILL WRONG. Of course it costs to get oil out of the ground AND you're still using worldwide oil production numbers as if all the oil is in the ME. Only about 1/3rd is.
In addition, if you believe in peak oil, Iraq has the LARGEST known reserves of easy-to-access low-hanging-fruit. This is why it's so appealing to the likes of Bush/Exxon. It's easy and cheap to get at.
SA is likely lying about its reserves and has less than it says. It's an oil rich country with an enormous unemployment problem. Something is deeply, deeply wrong in SA.
4. Under SH, about 1 million Christians lived in Iraq. In a country where organizations like the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq are now in power, how do you think they're doing?
5. If OBL is guilty-guilty-guilty why isn't Bush going after him? He admits that he doesn't even think about him much these days. WHAZZA? WHAZZA?
6. SUVs, being trucks, have lower safety ratings than cars. Since they are on the streets, however, their weight and bulk make it MORE DANGEROUS for everyone else in smaller cars. There are plenty of minivans and station wagons that can hold children in safety.
SUVs are fashionable (ok, they WERE fashionable) but would never have existed in these numbers if oil weren't as cheap in the USA as it has been.
Hey! GM lost $1b in the first quarter and is having a fire sale on its cars because of increased gas prices and the loss of its high profit SUV and truck biz.
Ooops! Reality sets in. |
