OOOOH. Opium. Now that would be a nefarious idea. Apparently, AFghanistan's bumper crops are heading toward Europe and the UK. I don't know about the quality but the price is supposed to be quite good. Charlie Rose had this guy on: China, Inc. : How the Rise of the Next Superpower Challenges America and the World by Ted C. Fishman Even pulling the numbers back (people are alarmist after all), they are pretty amazing. He notes that the population of the US is just a 'rounding error' in China's estimate of 1.3 to 1.6 billion people. Egads. They need to fix their massive pollution problem, they will have social and political upheaval at some point and things always go awry anyway but yet....
