"Recklessly"? Well, that depends a lot on definitions.
"Innocent"? That too.
But the fact is, civilians are always killed in war. Every one up to now. It does not require "reckless"; it is a fact of war.
But I would like you to back your charge.

Also, how about the "brilliant" idea of getting 40,000 (mostly) Shiites to go after Sunnis in Baghdad? Is there a better way to ignite a civil war?
Shiites are a majority in Iraq. They are entitled ("democratically entitled", that is) to majority representation in an Iraqi Parliament. The Sunni minority (tied to SH and used to being in power) object to this. And you, good Democrat that you are, support them.

And in all this mess, 140,000 of our troops are trapped and caught in the crossfire. Their numbers are way too small and most of them have been there way too long. It just keeps getting worse and worse and worse.
Know something? You d*** Dems said the same thing on July 3rd, 1863.

On July, 4, the Union won the Battle of Gettysburgh and the Battle of Vicksburg and the tide had turned.
