Jim Lampley was a sports reporter, if memory serves correct. Now he is challenging the elections results. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the voting pattern in this country. The Democrats wins the large urban markets - dc, nyc, boston, miami, etc... This represents an overwhelming number of votes but a very small cross section of the US. The republicans win every thing else. They win the smaller towns and cities across the country. Looking at the electoral results, republican counties represented 98% of the geographical territory in the US. They won almost every square foot of territory outside of all the big cities. The voting pattern was the exact same as the previous election.

IMO, the liberal press keeps running electoral polls until they find enough liberals to make the race look interesting. USA today continued to show that Bush had a commanding lead going into the election. Other polls were hell bent on suggesting radical poll changes going into the election. They were trying to get Kerry elected by suggesting that public sentiment no longer supported W.

It was sheer nonsense.
