"Sonus powered"

----------------------------------------------------

Significance of Belkin Putting Sonus' name on their
gear cannot be stessed enuff. Sonus' reputation is beginning to take hold with industry respect/acknowledgement that they are one of the Voip standard bearers in Telecommunications.

It is agreements like this that are building blocks to establishing it.

I am not aware of any other Carrier VOIP platform mfg. that has taken this tact. Or has plans to.

An endorsement/agreement like this is a milestone event.

Sonus is once again cutting trail in an NG technology platform that has no precedent. They are playing a role in How VOIP adoption unfolds and integrates, how it's marketed, and maybe even utlimately what partners/survivors will be left standing.

The VOIP landscape is a clean slate.

Promoting yourself as the standard bearer at the beginning of adoption can result (if your technology follow-through is strong) in winning the race. You actually leverage your early technology leadership into market leader and standards maker.

Belkin must be eyeballing the potential also. I'd even wager to say this relationship speaks to Belkins "knowledge" of what and who Sonus is working with and that they must see some serious potential;they may even be working with some of the carriers Sonus is working with to form the ultimate VOIP trifecta(SP-access Device supplier-Carrier platform supplier).

Belkin knows if Sonus is working with the Big 4,the enterpise and consumer subscribers of those 4 are potentially a huge customer base of Belkin.

A win-win-win.

How Sonus manages all this will be interesting. It could easily polarize if they aren't careful. But I get the feeling they're interested in making VOIP as ubiquitous as possible, and will facilitate opportunities were they and "others" benefit from their innovative solutions.

"Sonus powered" has tremendous marketing/branding potential.

It's "worth" could be staggering someday.

Voice is just one small piece of an extremely larger IP multimedia pie. Those that are fringy in voice will move on to bigger things. Leaving,as has been discussed here many times, just a few "VOICE PLATFORMS" in the industry. Eventually SP's/integrators will not want
to put alot of time into voice and will turn to defacto standard suppliers.

I look at some of the large infrastructure players, who may be weak in voice, and see the potential of them offerring the "Sonus voice engine" as part of an overall total solution(Samsung?).

GNevik recognition/view of this announcment is good to hear.

Much of the world missed or isn't talking about this suddenly new and potentially significant new twist.

I believe there is still much to be learned about this
relationship, and even Hassan has not decided to "feature" it in his presentations. I think they are positioning themselves as much as possible before they reveal this new marketing strategy to their competitors.

Lot's going on behind the scenes.

We may hear more this week.
