In todays paper I see that US personnel desecrated the koran 5 times - some of the desecrations were because guards held it in one hand - they're supposed to use 2 hands - and touched without wearing gloves - the hands of unbelievers being unclean, of course. And there have been 15 desecrations of korans by detainees - 1 of which really did try to flush it down a commode.

Re. abuse of prisoners at gitmo, the Navy inspector general reported 7 such cases out of 24,000 interrogations, all of the 7 abuse cases were minor.
