robertson said he spends most of his time in new zealand now. he has a lot of very good young people in some hedge funds he has now, and they now make the decisions instead of robertson. he is concerned about the usa consumer and housing. he did say he thinks things will end badly, but he could not say when (that i recall). he did not say anything about bush or greenspan that i recall. he did not really say anything political.

since a lot of people did not see the robertson interview, martin's story played well in political circles that are furtile ground for that type of hyperbole. martin's take was like a written version of mad magazine's "scenes we would like to see." i hope i am close on that comparison.
