CDC has two dozen bird pathogen specialists in Asia right now. The U.S. government appears, at present, to be doing the right thing about the risk of avian flu.

The H5N1 pathogen does not seem to be mutating into a human variety. We can't let our guard down. But hysteria over this issue is way too high.
