I agree with that Karen...The true addictions should be treated the same way. And again, some addicts can be an addict and not cause anyone else but themselves problems.

But the addicts that cause problems to society are THE problem. These folks need to be in a long term rehab center. Maybe in a "3 Strikes Your Out" type program... If they still revert back to their drug of choice (including alcohol) after the 3 rehabs, then we need to have long term rehab facilities where it is mandatory they go, for as long as it takes, same rules as a prison sentence, but rather than jail, they go to the mandatory rehab facility.

Take a look in the newspapers daily....see the damage some of these folks cause to the people in the community, and to the property of both the individuals and the community.
