Agreed. However, there is a difference between 'a good sense of humor' and attempting to humiliate or degrade those who are different, for comic relief.

As someone said recently, "being able to laugh at yourself" is the key. Although the guy who said it, meant other people should be able to lay down while he laughed at them. Some times people get the doctrine right without getting the application right.
