As long as the Germans and the French don't get the message that they must learn how to behave like all other members, the EU will remain in a crisis. As long as they (Schroder and Chirac in person!) behave like emperors as opposed to like members of the EU, the many small but in no way dumb nations like Holland, Scandinavia and on top of that the UK as well as the new East Europeans will not give their final and unlimited support to the union.

I see hopes for the Germans to understand that because from their side, this is not a national but rather a Schroder typical attitude.
As for the French, unfortunately I believe Chirac thus expresses a very French attitude, which is not likely to change soon with anybody.
