I really think the press should change the rules. If an anonymous source can retract whatever he tells you at will, it just plays into the hands of the Karl Roves of the world. I think the rule should be, if the anonymous source weasles on what he said, he was lying, should lose his protection and should be outed. That should be the NEW rule.
