Apple has bought into its own ad campaign and become a switcher. ...

This is both funny and ironic. But, even better ... it puts Apple in the position that if (God forbid) OS X should fail in longer term marketing, they can easily switch to become a Wintel manufacturer.

Of course I don't expect that to happen, but I still expect they may decide to manufacture Wintels as a separate profit center. And, why not? As long as more than 70% of the market is Wintels, it would make sense for a growth driven, publicly owned computer manufacturer to compete in that space. Especially, it would make sense for a manufacturer with so much invested in their own brick and mortar and virtual sales channel, who now has contracts with Intel to supply CPUs. With 7 billion in cash and no debt, would a takeover of Gateway now be in order?
