Ted, remember when these guys where claiming the ME had been remade by the Iraqi elections? The Bush doctrine confirmed, the "liberals" idiots? They declared victory in Iraq, and Lebanon, and the ME, and the world. (Our posts to wait and see what happens were laughed at).

How can I forget during Bush's State of Union all those purple index fingers thrusted into the air every time he made a statement without making a mistake in grammar or pronunciation. My antipathy for the neocons is well known. On that nite, though, I was embarrassed for them. Someone needs to take them into a room, lock the door and then run the video of the S of the U. Let them see exactly how stupid they looked!

They are typical Americans, instant gratification. The reality is that this will take generation to resolve, if it is ever resolved. And we are not a helpful influence... quite the opposite.

That's a exactly right. The problem in Iraq is lot more complicated than people simply wanting their freedom. In fact, as blasphemous as this may sound, Saddam was in many ways the right man for the job.

It must be nice to be young and naive and impatient, and to buy the crap at face value. But in the end... I guess it comes with age and experience... it's not as brain dead easy but being on the side of reality becomes really important.

If you mean the South Park creators, it has nothing to do with their age.........they are both in their thirties......only Americans and Europeans think that's young.

Rather, they were born GOPers to families that were ardent GOPers.......I think one is from TX. They had a sitcom, That's my Bush that protrayed Bush as this lovable guy who bumbles around a lot. I think it got canned after one season.

As for Hezbollah winning, its not a surprise to me. As much as the Lebanese don't like the Syrians, they don't like the US and Israel much better. During the elections, I saw a number of anti Bush signs. Another fantasy nurtured and promoted by the right goes down in flames.
