What we learned from vietnam is that in todays age, a draft excerbates opposition to questioned wars. So now even an all volunteer army fails to recruit not only because of the nature of this war but in the gross mistreatment of our forces so your solution is to make it worse and go back to the future? There may one day be a draft again but not while this war is going on. You more than anybody should see the necessity for setting an exit date and minimizing the number of names on the wall. Iraq is a battle in a larger war. No army wins or loses all battles. Iraq is getting to look to me like a false maginot line in the sand when in effect there may be better ways to get a good outcome there like giving them the chance to succeed or fail. 25 years in iraq is not acceptable and is not what the american people signed up for. mike
