You do what you do with the internet because that is all that you can do with it. But if you had high speed wireless for example, you'd use your cell phone instead of your credit card to buy anything from soda off the pop-machine to pay your taxi ride. Wired high-speed can easily be used for on-demand TV or even HDTV.

As for me, I am far too mobile for my own good, but I can access my desktop and my messages no matter where I am. By access I mean complete equivalency to being right at my keyboard. There is really no distinction between my office, home, or the overseas machine I use. To call this "convenient" is a huge understatement. Perhaps even more importantly, having 24/7 reliable connection has become a "convenience" I have no idea how I lived without it. And this is to say nothing of all the video calls I have with my parents and the rest of my family.

May be you should plan a vacation to Korea or Japan. It will be a great experience even if you still don't see the appeal of high-speed.
