No further lawsuits are necessary. Two of the defendants are now facing trial; the other two will have to explain before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals why those they bribed should be held in the dock to answer for their many crimes while they, who paid the bribes in the first place, should be allowed to walk away scot-free.

According to the United States Supreme Court, this result is not authorized, as a matter of law.
