Nice thing about Kaiser.

Agreed. Another nice thing I took for granted is that all my medical records are in one place -- well, two, the chart that has all my paper records, and the computer that has all my on-line records.

After assisting the old man client I was helping earlier this year, it soon became apparent to me that the best thing I could do for him was keep his medical records and health information in one central location, so I could give the info to all his varying health care providers on-the-fly as emergencies happened. I had a special accordian folder and a special Day-Timer just for this. Otherwise each health care provider had no clue whatsoever as to what any other health care provider was doing. He has Aetna PPO.

In contrast, my Kaiser rheumatologist is at a different center than my Kaiser internist, and sometimes I use a different lab or pharmacy that is open on the weekends, but my Kaiser providers have it all there on the computer everywhere I go.

I have a lot of reasons to distrust Kaiser but this is something they do right.
