Culture of Life?
George Dubya says he has a problem with some forms of stem cell research because he believes in a culture of life. My God! Is this man that blind to his own personality? Hundreds-of-thousands have died in Iraq thanks to what history will record as “Bush’s War.” During his tenure of office down in Texas, Dubya, as governor, presided over 152 State executions. He wants to appoint people to the Supreme Court (Alberto Gonzales, for instance) who are hell on wheels as far as implementing the death penalty goes, in spite of the fact that no statistic has ever existed to justify the penalty as a deterrent. He allows, and is in favor of allowing, millions (45 million plus) to languish without medical care in his own country. He has overseen the implementation, and signed into law, the worst prescription drug benefit imaginable.
In an article in Iraq4U.com Wayne Madsen writes: Bush mocked [Karla Faye] Tucker's appeal for clemency. In an interview with Talk magazine, Bush imitated Tucker's appeal for him to spare her life - pursing his lips, squinting his eyes, and in a squeaky voice saying, "Please don't kill me." That went too far for former GOP presidential candidate Gary Bauer, himself an evangelical Christian. "I think it is nothing short of unbelievable that the governor of a major state running for president thought it was acceptable to mock a woman he decided to put to death," said Bauer. Amen, I say; I certainly don’t want any jerk who mocks those sentenced to death, irrespective of who that might be, even Saddam Hussein, to be posing as my Commander in Chief. It’s hideous! It’s also one video clip I wish some news channel would run 24/7 for as long as this man is in office. |
