Amnesty International has called for an independent inquiry into allegations that hundreds of ghost detainees are being held by the United States in camps around the world.

gulf-news.com

I thought Amnesty International was supposed to be independent. Why don't they just conduct the inquiry themselves and let us know what they find out?

There is growing evidence of a network of global detention centres where people are denied access to lawyers, their families, and are held incommunicado, he said.

What evidence?

'We believe there are hundreds of prisoners being held in such conditions though it is difficult to give anything like an exact number because of the nature of their detention, '

Well, why don't they at least say what leads them to believe these international detention centers exist?

Is their source named tejek?!?
