Petition: The People Demand Impeachment

Petition initiated to demonstrate The People's Desire

by The People

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- (OfficialWire) -- 06/08/05 -- Having been asked, by 89 members of the House of Representatives, to provide public answers for their actions, no reply has been forthcoming. Despite the disclosure of the Downing Street Memo, President Bush and Vice President Cheney have avoided all questions about their apparent manipulation of intelligence by various means. Previously, these included establishing 'independent' commissions that either do not interview them or are not allowed to ask the key questions.

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution says, "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

It is time for Congress to do its duty, for We, The People, demand it.

We demand that Congress initiate the impeachment process against George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and all those within the Bush Administration found complicit in the lies associated with the "fixed" intelligence used to support the illegal war in Iraq.

We are calling upon all U.S. registered voters to support this effort and to sign the Petition online.
