"Jupiter Telecommunications (J-COM) makes other Japanese cable system operators seem like mere asteroids. The island nation's #1 cable provider sells cable TV services to more than 1.5 million subscribers through its 20 managed franchises. J-COM also serves more than 700,000 subscribers for both its VOIP phone service and its broadband Internet service. Liberty Media International and Sumitomo combined the interest each owns in the company, 45% and 20% respectively, into a holding company called LMI/Sumisho Super Media, which owns 65% of J-COM. Microsoft owns 20%."
