tejek, you amaze me.

That's not true at all. Israel has denied Palestine their statehood for decades.

How can Israel legally deny Palestine its statehood? The answer is they can't. Palestine could declare its sovereignty tomorrow and then send Abbas to camp out at the U.N. to get a new resolution reconfirming the original resolution of 1948 that proclaimed Palestine a two state region (one for the Jews and one for the Palestinians).

There is this big illusion that only the Israelis or Americans can deliver statehood to the Palestinians, but it is nothing more than that: an illusion. All Palestine needs to do is declare it and then fight for it: diplomatically and militarily.

The only real remaining step would be to negotiate state lines with Israel. Lines can be negotiated and they can even be fought over, because both the Palestinians and Israelis have the men willing to fight. However, sovereignty is not a gift the Israeli can deny the Palestinians. It is theirs for the taking. They simply refuse to take that step.

Ask yourself, why?
