<(google is handy, though I never sent them a dime as far as I know... opps I forgot the poots that wasted at $150 -g-)>

I haven't sent them money, but our son has via snowadventures.co.nz advertisements. If you search Google in Japanese, they are top of the search results. They pay for that privilege. The customers give Snowadventures money when they come to NZ. Snowadventures gives me money when they pay interest on my loan to them.

It's great! Google is getting a LOT of money for advertisements and they are, unlike nearly all other advertising, smart advertisements, reaching the people who want to read them.

Several years ago, I did a boe calculation on advertising revenues possible and the answer was an amount so big I was in jaw drop mode. [boe = back of envelope]. There are surely figures available in Google for actual advertising spend around the world in all the media. Castrol used to spend something huge on ads. Coca Cola is all ads. Advertising is communication and communication is what makes us human [opposable thumb, walking upright, drinking wine, going to movies etc notwithstanding]. Use of cybermoney will be the new definition [when I've got it ready].

I wouldn't want to short Google until I could see a better way of doing what they are doing.

Addendum: I thought I'd just check dogpile.com because a friend told me his 13 year old son said it's better than Google and it did indeed get me Japanese links to Snowadventures.co.nz better than Google did. So, maybe it's time to short Google. Dogpile gave me this link to the rogues running Snowadventures snowadventures.com
