I wouldn't know Laura Bush from adam except that she campaigns for her husband, takes his place on a tour of the ME and then is used to poke fun of Hillary Clinton by pretending she's running for President.

She has tremendous advantages as first lady but being out of the limelight isn't one of them. If you seek the bright white spotlight, you get it on all your foibles.

I don't really care much about the Bush twins except that they tried to get the Secret Service to help a friend in legal trouble AND their drunken antics showed up the hypocrisy of the rightwing 'ethics' yammering.

Since families are used as campaign props, they also get to deal with baggage that reflect negatively on the campaign. At the very least, the SPOUSE and the adult children actively campaigning are all fair game. After all, this is pure self-selection. No one drafted them against their will except for the little kids who, as I said, are off limits.

Just as Barbara Bush is known as an absolute bitch, I doubt very seriously that Laura Bush is any kind of angel. If she wants to play the cookie-baking wife role then who cares? Once she steps into the political limelight again and plays 'I'm running for President' then she's absolutely fair game.

Besides, in 2005, I think it's pathetic that she can't admit she had a facelift and, instead, pretends that she went on a camping vacation. Total bs.
