The fact that violent crime may have dropped after the assault weapons ban expired doesn't mean that it dropped BECAUSE the assault weapons ban expired. A and B can both be true, if you follow me.

There has been some interesting speculation over the past few years that the crime rate is dropping because abortions were legalized. There has been a rapid dropoff that corresponds timewise. In other words, a whole generation of criminals may have been aborted, so they didn't grow up. Unwanted children are for the most part the people who become criminals.

Do you have any feelings about whether it is better to have no weapons restrictions at all, or follow the recommendations of the police associations, most of which want more gun laws than the NRA supports?
