I generally agree. However, moderating that observation, this is more an acquisition than a merger. STK is bought outright. Sun people definitely in charge, so there shouldn't be turf battles at the highest levels. It's up to Scott to make sure STK meshes in well. Hopefully he might prove up to the task. Not too optimistic, but hopeful.

Large tech mergers rarely work. History is littered with examples like DEC/CPQ, ATT/NCR, JDSU, probably CPQ/HP, and so on. The ones that seem to work better are when firms like CSCO buy small outfits for their talent/technology.
