Well, I'm afraid that "intimidation" and "persuasion" go both ways.... What would be left of the US polity after it's been hit with a major non-conventional strike? You'll have to kiss all your rights goodbye... The Pentagon will take over... TV newscasts will be presented by military officers... I guess the US will look pretty much like a Disneyesque gulag...

You've got the point: it's up to Mediterranean Europe to build friendly relations with her Arab/African neighbours... Likewise, if lily-white, Eastern Europe --spurred by US and Israeli Svengalis-- wants to try for a "clash of civilization" with Islam, that's pretty much their foolishness....
