"2005 New Jersey Governor Race

The first post-primary poll has been released in the New Jersey Gubernatorial race. It contains some good news for Doug Forrester even though he trails Corzine 47%-40%.

For example, “Corzine is viewed favorably by 42% of New Jersey voters and unfavorably by 36%. The numbers for Forrester are 38% favorable and 28% unfavorable.”

Moreover, “Thirty-two percent (32%) of voters see Forrester as politically conservative while 40% see him as moderate. Forty-three percent (43%) see Corzine as politically liberal while 32% see him as moderate.”

It should be interesting, given the fact that Jerry Kilgore has roughly the same lead in Virginia, to see if the commentators who call that race a toss-up deem this one the same.
