"Sorry for the mix up."

No problem, Mana... sometimes I jump too fast at responding to what I *tink* I've just read, too... when actually I'm reading it wrong.

[Do 'religious conservatives' wind up sometimes as enablers of bigger government through they reliance upon government to enforce their favored social norms upon the public?]

"The answer is no...."

Well... if you DO NOT EVER REQUIRE THE SUPPORT OF GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE YOUR FAVORED VIEWS AND POLICIES UPON THE PUBLIC (where those policies restrict what people can and cannot do)... if you only rely upon 'moral suasion' on the individual level, not the heavy hand of government, then you are not an enabler of bigger government.

But if you DO REQUIRE THE POWER OF GOVERNMENT TO MANDATE, AND ENFORCE YOUR VIEWS ABOUT INDIVIDUAL BEHAVIOR... then you ARE an enabler of a bigger, more intrusive government.

Whether you wish to admit the fact, or not.
